Frequently Asked Questions

What is your product made from?

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU): Flexible, often used for soft goods like footwear and wearable tech. Click here for more info.

What if my stairs or floors have a tight curve?

Our moldings can bend to most curves. For broad or gentle curves on stairs or floors, we include a pre-bend (inside or outside) so the molding seats correctly.

For very tight curves — under about 30 inches for stair nosings or under 2 feet for transitions — we can provide a custom bend to fit your project.

How can I tell if I need a Custom Mold?

Every project is unique, and we understand that! Start by reviewing our Order Guide to see what your project might require. For every order, we also request photos of your project to ensure we’re fully aligned and can provide the best solution.

Can we seam together multiple pieces?

Yes! Our stair nosings come in 84-inch (7 ft) and 42-inch (3.5 ft) sizes.

For steps between 7 ft and 10.5 ft, we offer our Seaming Service to join pieces smoothly. This makes installation easier and creates a clean, continuous look.

What is the difference between Oak and Maple grain?

  • Oak: bold, textured, and rustic, with visible pores that give depth and character.
  • Maple: smooth, subtle, and refined, for a sleek, understated look.

Both grains are captured in our polyurethane moldings, giving you the authentic wood appearance that stains beautifully and elevates any space.

How to determine the correct nosing for your project?

Choose a stair nosing based on floor type and style:

  • Top Mount – bullnose style that caps the floor edge for fast, durable installation.
  • Edge Molding – squared, modern style that caps the floor edge cleanly.
  • Flush Mount – sits level with the floor for a low-profile edge.
  • Overlap Stair Nose – for floating floors, allows movement while staying secure.

The right nosing ensures durability, easy installation, and a polished finish for your stairs.
